About Master CAWEB

The Master CAWEB is a State-recognized degree under the Master in Applied Foreign Languages  at the University of Strasbourg. This programme offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with essential skills in:

  • Web development
  • Multilingual website design through UI/UX principles
  • Digital marketing
  • Visual communication & graphic design
  • Project management
  • Translation and localization in multiple foreign languages
  • Website and social media management

The Master CAWEB is a hybrid programme, offering flexible learning paths:

  • On-campus (Alsace) with an apprenticeship in the second year
  • Online (remote) with an apprenticeship anywhere in France
  • Internationally through continuing education

This unique structure allows students to gain practical experience while developing expertise in digital communication and multilingual web technologies.

MASTER CAWEB’S PROGRAMME DIRECTOR

Dr Renate de la Paix

Renate De La Paix does everything possible to offer training programmes that are best suited to the evolving professions in communication, having been convinced that universities have much to contribute to the professional world, and vice versa.


As a result, she founded the CAWEB Master’s programme in 2002, followed by the Master’s in Technical Communication and Localization in 2016. Originally from Germany, she holds degrees in French and Spanish Translation as well as Business Management. After gaining professional experience in both private companies and public institutions, she chose an academic career, dedicating herself primarily to overseeing highly professionalized training programmes.

USABILITY & UX DESIGNER

Marie-Aude Sourd-Ramos

Freelance UX/CX Researcher and former CAWEB student. When she is not tutoring CAWEB/TCLoc students, Marie-Aude helps UX professionals and career switchers develop their career paths within the UX industry. Her background in linguistics and Market Research helps her drive strategic business decisions with data and research insights.

French by birth, expat by choice, she spent 19 years in Germany and Switzerland before making Spanish Catalunya her home. She nourishes a passion for traveling and exploring different cultures. As a tutor and mentor, she focuses on identifying unique skills and encourages her students to thrive and carve their own career strategies, just like she did, driven by passion and curiosity.
