Germany

Logo of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is a German vocational university with campuses in Bernburg, Dessau, and Köthen, focusing on practical, research-driven education. Tracing its origins to the 19th-century Higher Technical Institute in Köthen, the university has a long tradition of engineering and technical training.

Today, it educates 7,500 students, including 2,500 from abroad, across seven faculties. Each campus has a distinct academic focus: Köthen specializes in technical disciplines, Bernburg in business and agriculture, and Dessau in design and architecture. Anhalt University equips students with real-world skills for careers in Germany and internationally.

Greece

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is Greece’s second-oldest and largest university, founded in 1925. Named after Aristotle, it serves over 88,000 students. While Greek is the primary language of instruction, courses are also available in English, French, German, and Italian. Initially established with core faculties like Philosophy, Medicine, and Law, the university expanded over three stages, adding engineering, fine arts, journalism, and sports sciences. Today, it consists of 12 faculties and 36 schools.

Poland

Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) is one of Poland’s leading comprehensive universities and the major academic institution in the city of Poznań. With a strong tradition dating back to 1919, AMU combines research excellence with high-quality education. The University comprises 20 faculties and holds the prestigious « HR Excellence in Research » award, affirming its commitment to the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

AMU successfully underwent evaluation by the European University Association (EUA), becoming the first comprehensive university in Poland to receive the EUA Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) quality seal. The evaluation highlighted the University’s reformed structure, robust infrastructure, and dynamic cooperation with local and international partners.

With over 2,000 academic staff members and a vibrant student community, AMU fosters internationalization, interdisciplinary research, and innovation, offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.

Portugal

The University of Minho (UMinho), founded in 1973 in Braga, Portugal, is a leading public institution of higher education. With campuses in Braga and Guimarães, it serves 21,000 students and has played a key role in modernizing Portugal’s academic landscape. Recognized by the European University Association for its high-quality education.

The university comprises six schools and four institutes. Fields such as engineering, architecture, medicine, and economics, with nationally and internationally research units, are available to students.

UMinho’s campuses are divided by discipline, with humanities and social sciences concentrated in Braga. Engineering and architecture are primarily located in Guimarães. Academic traditions are also preserved, which is reflected in its official anthem and the safe-keeping of the cultural institutions, such as the Public Library of Braga and the Virtual Museum of Lusophony.

Romania

Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara (UPT), established in 1920, is a prominent technical university in Timișoara, Romania. It was classified in Romania’s top research universities in 2011 and ranked third in 2018 by SCImago. UPT is a member of both the Romanian Alliance of Technical Universities and the Timișoara University Alliance. The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes across 10 faculties, serving about 15,000 students.

UPT’s history began with the establishment of the Școala Politehnică in 1920 and has evolved through various developments. It is committed to advanced scientific research, professional training, and societal development. UPT is guided by principles of academic autonomy, freedom, quality assurance, and student-centered education.

The Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de València (EASD València) is a distinguished institution dedicated to art and design education. It offers a variety of programmes, including degrees in Interior Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Photography and Audiovisual Creation, Illustration, and Jewelry and Object Design.

EASD València emphasizes practical experience and creativity, preparing students for successful careers in the design industry. The school also offers master’s programmes in areas such as Ceramics, Interactive Design, Sustainable Interior Design, Fashion, Product Design, and Publications.

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is a public research and higher education institution, specializing in engineering, architecture, and sciences. Founded in 1968 as the Institut Politècnic Superior, it consolidated existing technical schools in Barcelona. In 1971, it became the Universitat Politècnica de Barcelona.

In 1994, it established the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya to support lifelong learning. UPC’s campuses, including locations in Barcelona, Castelldefels, and Manresa, offer a wide range of programmes in engineering and technology. It also actively promotes research, such as the Barcelona Knowledge Campus (BKC) and the Centre for Nanotechnology.

USA

Louisiana Tech University has been the University’s partner for the Symposium for the past four years. Now, it is also one of our BIP partners. Located in Ruston, Louisiana, and home to approximately 11,000 students, Louisiana Tech is a leading public university known for its excellence in engineering, business, and aviation.

Louisiana Tech offers a vibrant student experience with state-of-the-art facilities and strong industry connections, making it a key player in technological advancements and higher education. With a focus on hands-on learning and real-world applications, the university prepares students for success in an evolving global landscape.
